Saw this on one of my tea boxes today.
It is not the first time I saw there is an “expiry date” on it.
So, do tea expire?
No.   The date that is included doesn’t mean it is going to exprie and you cannot drink
It is actually called the sell-by date; it is all about the quality of the tea only. So, if you keep the tea longer than the date that mentioned on the box, the quality won’t stay that good.
If you keep it well, the quality won’t change but it may also enhance the quality of the tea.
However, there are many factors that would affect the quality of the tea.

- Temperature
- Light
- Humidity

To determine whether the tea has expired; based on
- Any strange smell
- Green tea becomes red
- The color of the tea, become brownish or darker color
- The strength of the tea
If it is bulk tea, don’t brew or drink it after 18 months.
because usually, the bulk tea’s quality has been changed during processing, if it exposed to the air for too long, it affects the original taste or it would lose the flavour of the tea.
