Teashirt

26 02 2008

I like beautiful things
I like good stuff

This tea maker…..Hm~~

Not only looks good
but also has a special function -

you can choose whether to have tea with tannin or not

The other thing I like is the teashirt
Yes, not t-shirt but teashirt

The tea shirt is to keep warm but also protect your hands when you pour the tea out

the tea maker as I have read from the website got several awards. WOW

I found that not only the teamaker has a good design but also the products of evasolo are also nice~~

Enjoying a cup of tea – tea bag

18 02 2008

Valentine's Blend Tea and Gifts

Picture from Harney & Sons

I remember in order to call a dish as a good dish it requires the following components in it:

Color
Smell
Taste

 So as tea

aebcf162.gif

When you buy tea nowdays, most of the packing looks like the ones above
The first time I have ever seen one like that is from Mighty Leaf; the Vanilla Bean that I tried and mentioned in previous entry

Not only the tea tastes better than with this kind of tea bags
but it also makes the whole experience better

With the look of the tea bag
I enjoyed my tea even better
It is a biodegradable tea bag/infuser
made out of polylactic acid material dervide from cornstarch and
the tea bag is made into a little silken bag

The reason that using these tea bag other than the traditional ones is because
these tea infuser/bags/silken bag can contain a whole, full tea leaf which the traditional cannot
also, it allows all tea leaf to bring out their flavours fully

Tea maker

9 02 2008

Went shopping yesterday and this thing grabbed my attention for awhile.

 http://homeappliances.files.wordpress.com/2007/04/zarafina-tea-maker.jpg?w=255&h=370

It is a tea maker.

Highlights of this tea maker

- designed to know exactly how long to steep and at exactly what temperature to brew and steep each type of tea

- the tea will dispense automatically, therefore the tea won’t be too strong or too weak, which make a good cup of tea then
* Check the demo out!

- You can choose the strength of the tea, strong, medium, mild

- Steep a variety of teas; black, oolong, green, white, herbal - You can either try it with loose or bagged teas- it comes with 2 ceramic cups, tea pot and serving tray

Zarafina® SwitchesI like how it dispense the tea automatically and true enough that the tea will be adjusted at the right strength because when you go off for awhile, the tea is either too strong or too weak already, but if it would automatically dispense the tea, I don’t have to worry whether it is too strong or too weak then

It sounds so good, but of course it will come with a price
Currently online price is about $150
But I saw it yesterday @ the Bay, it is CAD $129.99

Tempting to buy one; someone said it could be my birthday present
but I guess I can’t wait for that long though
(Can I have it as a Chinese New Year gift/Valentine’s gift….instead? my birthday is too far away)

Time for midterm.

So I decided to make a cup of tea for myself, to relax.

The tea part is a spa for the soul.  You leave your cares and work behind.  Busy people forget their business.  Your stress melts away, your senses awaken…” ~ Alexandra Stoddard

Looking for a perfect one- 1

21 01 2008

Hm….
Recently I am looking for a good tea mug/cup for myself…
I love white color, because I like everything to be clean…all my utensils are in white color…..

But I am getting a bit bored with this cup now…
wanna to buy a new one…i don’t care it is a cheap or expensive cup…as long as I can enjoy my cup of tea, then it is a great cup…

The one that I have in my mind is : My Cuppa (from UK)

MyCuppa Mugs

Check this out~ Click Here

Sadly, it is out of stock

Special thing about this cup is;

- there are 2 designs, one for tea and other for coffee
- the design inside the mug; there is a matching guide,
it is like a guideline telling you whether the color of your tea matches what you want or the tea you try to brew.
- Only 10 pounds..worth it I think….wanna to buy one~~~ where I can get it??!!

Another gadgets – Teatool

19 01 2008

In order to make a good cup of tea, you need:
1. Good Teapot
2. Good Tea cup
3. Good Teabag/tea leaves
4. Good Teastick which I mentioned in the last entry

and now I need to add another item on my “To Buy List” which is Teatool (Tea strainer) after the Teastick

Tea Tool

I just realised, there are so many things have been invented to make our life easier just because we WANT to have A GOOD CUP OF TEA!!

Teatool, basically a tool allows us to
- handle the teabag easily,
- conveniently,
- don’t make a mess in your kitchen or wherever you are having the tea….

Tea Tool

So… another gadget for tea and no excuse for me to say, Tea just for older generation…haa haa…

New gadgets – The Teastick!!

18 01 2008

I really don’t like to have tea leaves floating around in my cup of tea…so I mostly use the tea bags

People said there are differences between having a cup of tea that with tea bags or tea leaves…(Hm..does it taste differently? I don’t know…)
But I have found a solution that I don’t need to take tea bags anymore.

The Teastick!!!

Check this video out learn how to use it! –> Teastick demo

It seems that people are trying to promote the tea culture now.
People may think that tea is only for old people, but no, look at the teastick, it looks so trendy, ‘fashionable’, well to me, at least I think it is cool, it is great!!!

I don’t like tea infuser or tea balls, because past experiences told me that it is not easy to clean or dump the tea leaves.
To me this teastick is much better when dealing with tea leaves
+  easy to use
+ not expensive to buy one
+ not only works as a infuser but also can work as a stirrer

I am gonna order it now and have a try!!! coz there are more flavour or types of tea that are not selling in the form of tea bags…I really want to try them….so i ought to buy a teastick.

Alternative choice:

Disposable teastick

Tea & Season 1

16 01 2008

picture from flickr user; araite

Tea for different season:

Something that I read online, different tea leaves and tea are produced at a different time of the year.
Tea is thought to be good for the body, for example, some may good for curing a cold, allergy or pain…etcetc.

The tea for Spring is:  Herbal Tea (Jasmine and lemongrass, peppermint)
It is believed that to remove the “cold symptom”and the feeling of tiredness inside the body; the person may feel refreshed again after taking the herbal tea.

* The “cold/yin” here is referring the body type,
People with cold symptom means not that their body temp. is low, but may have lower pulse rate, slow movement, lower metabolism.

10 things to avoid

16 01 2008

Know how to drink and enjoy a cup of tea….

  1. Don’t drink tea with empty stomach
     - it hurts the organs
  2.  Don’t drink it when it is super duper hot
    - if you drink it for a long time, it damages the organs.  - Studies show that people who frequently drink the tea that has a temperature of 62 Celus have problems with stomach.
Best temperature is 56 Celus or below
    - hurt your the throat, stomach and esophagus
  3.  Don’t drink tea after having alcohol
    - Ethanol/Alcohol (From your alcohol drink) and theophylline (from the tea leaves) will be absorbed by the kidney constantly and make your kidney work harder or cause harm to the kidney
  4.  Don’t drink strong tea
    - Too much Caffeine that could cause headache and insomnia
  5.  Don’t steep the tea for a long time
    - It will become bitter and lose its flavour and leave it for too long, it may contaminated by the enviornment and cause bacteria to develop
  6.  A tea bag or tea can only brew for 3-4 cups of tea
    - You can get 50% of flavor or tea from the 1st cup of tea you brew
    30% for the 2nd cup
    10% for the 3rd cup
1-3% for the 4th cup of teaIf you continue to brew it for the next cup of tea, all you will get is the harmful substance.
  7.  Don’t drink tea before meal/eating
    - It lower your appetite.
  8.  Don’t drink tea straight away after having meal/eating
    - Best time to have a cup of tea – one hour after the meal because tea contain tannic acid and make it harder to digest the protein and iron we have from food.
  9.  Don’t mix or dirnk with medicine
    - Affect the absorption and th effectiveness of medicine
  10.  Don’t drink the tea that left over for a long time
    - If the tea left it for too long and not drinking it, the vitamins will be lost, and the protein and glucose inside the tea would develop as bacteria.
