Lavender tea

8 03 2009
Finally had a time to write some tea that I have tried out
I was so happy when I saw this tea package at a store today…
the price was $28 (HKD) but I actuallygot another 50% off…so happy!!
but the most important is it has all the tea flavours that I always wanted to try and especially in small packs..

So today, I tried Lavender tea..
so happy!
I am a person that have never been to a Lavender field (but always dreaming to go) and only saw the flower Lavender once last summer in a garden and I only used Lavender oil and never try any Lavender products then…
This tea package actually from Japan…

The aroma of Lavender is so strong that filled up the whole kitchen when I first pour the hot water down to the cup with it…Smell so good…

I really need a cup of Lavender, have been finding this tea for a year….coz I heard that Lavender can actually help to relax..
This tea is a herb tea and the tea is so good and is not that strong at all…i thought it is like other herb that it has a strong taste of spice…it doesn’t even though it tastes like there is some spices in it.
The tea is so  nice, my headache just gone when I sipping it…

Barley Tea/Mugicha Tea

A colleague of mine just bought some barley tea for the whole office from Japan.
Before putting the barley tea bag into the hot water, I can smell from the bag already
Smell so good!!!!
Just looking it up for Barley tea, it actually really good for the body
from the perspective of Chinese medicine

It is good for your stomach, especially for those don’t have good stomach, (i.e. suffer from stomache)
Good for people who constipate, because barley tea can help for digesting the carbonhydrate food, this tea is good for your digestive system

This tea also only good for mothers who just finish breast feeding, (Caution: not for those who are breast feeding, “finish” I mean totally finished, no more breast feeding to your baby)
Wow~ it is just a tea, but I can still how helpful it can be.

Expensive Tea

13 08 2008

I am now currently working in HK and I have looking for tea shops and new tea to try out
The tea that I am going to introduce is from Germany, Gourmetti’s Blueberry Bliss

DSC02672 DSC02686
I have seen this brand promoting and selling in most of the supermarkets here

The thing that attracts me to look into this tea more is not because it is everywhere, (seems popular) but the PRICE!!!

It is 4 times more expensive than any other tea that are selling in the supermarket

It is 120g but as far as I could remember it is selling at a price of HKD98
Well, I guess it is not that expensive when I put it back into Canadians but it sounds expensive in HKD

I guess this tea worth what it rates…
1st because when you first open the tin, it welcomes you with a strong blueberry aromatic flavour
2nd because it has real fruits in it…..i actually need to chew the blueberries….
3rd this blueberry bliss good for health as well due to the high Vitamin C in it

It tastes fantastic and the flavour stays in your mouth for awhile
I am gonna to bring to work and make all my colleagues jealous of it and wanna to get one as well

Blackcurrant tea

9 04 2008

The newest tea that I try is the Blackcurrant tea from Stash herbal samplers
(Yes, still the herbal tea, you can still how long does it take me to finish and try all the samplers in that box)

img_3265

I think after trying so many teas that have berries flavor (except strawberry and blueberry)
I don’t think I am really into the berry types tea now
To me
is too sour
(I don’t know probably just me coz my friend said it is sweet enough…)

Anyway
I just found that it is good to have blackcurrant though
as it does good to health
may be I should try the tea again or just simply eat blackcurrant

Blackcurrant is famous containing high level of Vitamins C
Vitamins C cannot be produced by the body
Vitamins C is important to skin, teeth, ligaments, bones, tendons and cartilage…

Burdock Tea

24 03 2008

Still haven’t recovered from my cold
Still sitting in bed all the time

but other than drinking lots of water, orange juice, mango juice, lemon honey, lemon tea,

taking lots of Vitamin C
I also take the chinese drink that according to my mother who said it will help my cold/flu

But I of course read the instruction on the tea package
I just realised it is not what my mother said

It is Burdock Tea

There are several good things about this tea if you find it through goggle

Cleanses the blood
Stimulates the liver
Helps to regulate blood sugar
Anti-inflammatory
Antioxidant properties

There are more

http://www.florahealth.com/flora/home/Canada/HealthInformation/Encyclopedias/BurdockRoot.htm

But on the package it says it is good for

removing internal heat
Cure coughing
Cure Stroke
Reduce Cholestrol level
Cure Constipation
Help urination
Cure backpain

Burdock has lots of minerals, fibre, water, iron and calcium..
I guess that may be why my mother recommend me to drink this tea
at least it will do me good

picture taken by me

Well
My friend bought the Herbal tea sampler last time
Few nights ago
I tried the Stash Mango passionfruit
I wanted to try this one for a long time and looked forward to try it
because I always want to compare this mango tea with another brand CakeEmotion_0051285.gif image by hellokamkitty

Hm…
I still prefer the other brand that I have (which I will post it later)

I guess the mango flavour wasn’t strong enough as I thought
Yet I will give another shot next time to see whether there is a difference between the way my friend made the tea and the way I make my tea

By the way
One time
My friend wanted to give me a surprise;
in one of the tea
he put fresh mango in it…
I really would not recommend to do that to anyone57.gif image by Kennis1212002

Herb/Herbal Tea 1

29 01 2008

So, you may heard about Black tea, green tea, oolong tea…..etcetc, these different types of tea.
But Herb Tea may be you seldomly hear about it, unless you are Chinese or you know about Chinese medicine or unless you are tea lover.
The Herb Tea that I am talking about is the Chinese Herb Tea.

HK Stanley St Chinese herb tea shop.jpg

Picture of Herbal Tea shop

Herbal Tea actually orginiated from Canton (Guangdong) in China.
It has a history of 200 years. Herbal tea as been listed as National Intangible Cultural Heritage just recently.
Nowadays you either can get it from a Chinese Medicine shop or from the Herbal Tea shop.
This kind of tea are to help remove tonics in your body, to cleanse your body and enhance vitality.
Each of them has its own function and benefits to your body, for example, help you to recover from flu , dehydration, remove internal heat…etcetc.

Herbal Tea not only good for you body, they actually sometimes served as a cold drink to hot drink when you are enjoying having Hot Pot or BBQ.
So that you won’t have a sore throat the next day. I can tell you that these tea really helps from a personally experience, which I could still give a presentation next day without losing my voice from Hot Pot or BBQ!!!

Herbal Tea will become more popular after the Olympics 2008 @ Bejing as they are going to promote more and more to other people.
Another shocking news that I just read, just released from the press last year that Herbal Tea will become the top selling drink in the world, it beats Cokecola and Starbucks in 2010. Herbal Tea will be sold 60 million tons by 2010.
