Tea egg

31 03 2008

img_7923img_7893

So last weeknd was the long weekend
I was invited to a dinner from one of my friends
I found that not only Taiwanese people would like to serve the following dish
My friend from China always like to serve this dish as well

What dish?
Tea egg

My friend made it as a starter or a salad dish as pics showed above

Tea egg is kind of a snack for Chinese/Taiwanese or Hong Kong people

You may see why I would write Tea egg as today’s entry
coz obviously
it relates to tea

Chayedan.jpg

The eggs are boiled into this tea liquid
The tea that used usually black tea
or Pu-erh tea
or tea that have high in dar-brown tannins
It not only gives the taste but the color of it

green tea will be too bitter for it

It is salty
and
soy sauce or Chinese five-spice power are added into it for flavour
Yummy!

Mood & tea

2 03 2008

I guess I have tried a beverage also called Yogi
But I didn’t know there is a brand of tea called Yogi tea
Haven’t tried it yet

Yet I went on the website
I guess it is fun to choose a tea from your mood or the tea could represent your personality
which I guess it is fun 1-2.gif image by oi_lam2007

Because even when I am in a depressing mood
I don’t want to think what kind of tea to drink
I just want to have the perfect tea and appropriate tea for my current mood only
It would be nice if a computer program could tell me what to do as there are many decisions I ought to make everyday already

http://www.yogitea.com/#/MeetOurTeas/

My choice: Bed Time (Valerian and Chamomile) hh1.gif image by fatfatfamily

Ambiance: Sophisticated
Taste: Smooth
Mood: Mellow

No wonder it is called BedTime
becaue chamomile is a good calming agent and help to fall asleep
It is also good for stomache, bowl syndrome, remove cramping and spastic pain and muscle pain
remove excess gas + bloating in intestine

Month of Love ~ Are you or are you not my…?

19 02 2008

Valentine’s Day just passed

However
this month is still a Month of Love to some people

I was thinking about how tea and love can be related  other than Valentine’s Day (Tea)
This time I saw something really funny/interesting on the internet

There is an idiom in English said, “You are not my cup of tea…”

Why? Why it has to be tea
not you are not my cup of coffee
or you are not my cup of
           … water
            …latte
or …cappuccino?

Sounds negative right?

But some wedding planners from mimigift used this idiom (turn it slightly) for their clients’ weddings
In a wedding, it is common to give gifts in return to your guests
so here is the gift called, ”We have found our cup of tea”

Isn’t it a great idea?

It is a rose bud tea, even better

A song for today while enjoying your cup of tea

Simply not tea – 1

13 02 2008

Yuanyang is simply not tea
Because it is a mixture of tea and coffee
it can serve as hot or cold

Love it! becoz I am a person who cannot drink hot coffee (becoz I will have stomache or headache, but I really love the taste and smell of coffee)

this drink not simply coffee, it is mixed with tea, so while enjoying the tea, it still allows me to have a taste of coffee
just little bit
Yum yum, tasty!

This drink is from and very popular in HKNow, I could have it on campus as well, becoz it is also a kind of tea that serve in Tai Wan as well
So good, the only bad thing is just a little bit too sweet

One more day ’til Valentine’s Day
